The Apsley Flames Atom team finished in 2nd place in the first ever Silver Stick Atom LL Regional Qualifier in Haliburton on Saturday, December 3rd & 4th.

In their first game, the Apsley Atoms defeated Lindsay Muskies White by a score of 7-0.  Goaltender, Gavin Swift earned the shutout.  In their second game they beat the Tillsonburg Tornadoes 8-1.  The third game on Saturday was a much tighter game and ended in a 2-2 tie against Mariposa Lightening Blue.  Apsley finished the round robin in 1st place in their group and advanced to the semi-finals.

On Sunday, December 4th, Apsley played an 8am semi-final game against Lindsay Muskies Teal.  It was a very exciting game that finished in a 2-2 tie in regulation. Goaltender Dillon Lockerbie played great in net!  The game headed straight into a 3 on 3 over time period.  The Apsley Flames sent out centre, Noah Olauson and defensemen, Austin Shee and Keagan Perks.  Within the first minute, Olauson scored the sudden victory goal, assisted by Shee and Perks!

At 2pm, the Apsley Flames faced the Beeton Stingers in the final.  The team played hard and out shot their opponents but fell to a 4-0 loss.  We are so proud of our Apsley Flames Atom team for bringing home silver!
