Season Format & Game Times

Apsley is classified by the OMHA as a Local League centre only.  We play travelling hockey within the L.E.O., or League of Eastern Ontario.  There are no boundary lines or jurisdictions to play Local League hockey.  Apsley does not charge any extra fees to players from out of the area.

There are 12 other associations that make up the L.E.O., Bancroft, Brighton, Campbellford, Centre Hastings, Douro, Ennismore, Havelock, Lakefield, Norwood, Otonabee, Tweed and Warkworth.  The Novice - Midget divisions usually consist of 18-24 regular season games, a playoff round robin consisting of 6-10 games and a best of 3 championship series.  The Initiation program consists of up to 4 exhibition games and 8 season games.  Apsley hosts the Initiation Wrap-Up Jamboree each year on the first Saturday in March.

Regular season games for the Novice - Midget divisions will begin after Thanksgiving and wrap up late January.  Playoffs and Championship Series will be completed before March Break. Home game times will generally be Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.  Away games will vary depending on the home ice times of our opponents.  Initiation games will begin after January 1st.  Home game times will be Saturday mornings.
