Our Apsley Flames U11's and U13's both went undefeated at their respective Bryan Bickell Cup Tournaments in Orono over the Christmas holidays!
On Tuesday, December 27th, the U11 Flames participated in the Bryan Bickell Cup U11 division. In their first game, they defeated the Orono Leafs Team #2 by a score of 7-2. Goals were scored by Cohen Kemp (2), Kyle Laing, George Sayer, Ella Freeburn and Lawson Tracey with helpers from Kyle Laing (2), George Sayer, Owen Hill, Charlie Cotnam and Cruz Kaschak.
In their second game, the U11 Flames beat Northumberland 4-2. Charlie Cotnam scored 2 goals for Apsley with singles from Kyle Laing and Cohen Kemp.
The Flames two wins earned them a spot in the 'A' Championship game against the host team, the Orono Leafs Team #3. Apsley won the championship game 6-0! Thomas Boa earned the shutout. Goals were scored by Kyle Laing (2), Ella Freeburn (2), Owen Tucker and Emmett Swift, assisted by Cruz Kaschak (2) and Emmett Swift (2).

On Wednesday, December 28th, the U13 Flames travelled to Orono. In their first game, Apsley beat the Clarington Marauders 8-1. Goals were scored by Liam Koehler (5), Billy Boa (2) and Kasen McGinn. Assists were added by Carter O'Donoghue (2), Ryder Wilson, Maxton Walker, Brodie Baylis and Creighton Perks.
In game #2, the Flames beat the Woodville Hurricanes 4-2. Kasen McGinn scored twice for Apsley with singles added by Liam Koehler and Cohen Kemp. The goals were assisted by Ryder Wilson, Nash Kilner, Carter O'Donoghue, Brodie Baylis and Max Lynch.
After two wins, the U13 Flames landed a spot in the 'A' Championship game agasint the host Orono Leafs. Orono scored first but Brodie Baylis tied it up for Apsley with assists from Max Lynch and Greyson Miscio. Orono went up 3-1 before the Flames second goal was scored by Kasen McGinn with helpers from Ryder Wilson and Creighton Perks. Orono quickly responded and Apsley was down 4-2 going into the third period. With 5 minutes left in the game, Ryder Wilson scored for Apsley, assited by Kasen McGinn and Nash Kilner. With 2:33 left on the clock, Liam Koehler tied the game with an assist from Carter O'Donoghue. Kheiron Rowe stood on his head, helping to keep the Flames in the game. With 1:12 left in the game, Kasen McGinn scored the game winning goal, assited by Creighton Perks.

To date, the Apsley Flames have never lost a Bryan Bickell Cup Tournament. The Apsley Flames Peewee teams won the tournament in both the 2017-18 season and the 2018-19 season. Keep up the great work!
