U11 & U13 Regional Silver Stick Champions!
The Apsley Flames U11 & U13 teams have both qualified for the International Silver Stick Finals in Pelham, ON January 11th - 14th 2024.  

On Saturday, November 18th, the U11 Flames competed in the Highland Storm Regional Silver Stick Qualifier in Haliburton.  In their first game of the tournament Apsley defeated Ennismore Eagles White by a score of 8-0.  Goals: Charlie Cotnam 3, Cohen Kemp 2, Quinlan Kilner, Owen Tucker & Cruz Kaschak.  Assists: Cohen Kemp 2, Quinlan Kilner 2, Cole Villeneuve 2, Max Dunford & Kenndra King.  Thomas Boa earned the shutout for the Flames.

In their second game, the Apsley Flames U11 team beat Highland Storm Carquest by a score of 8-2.  Goals: Owen Tucker 2, Cruz Kaschak 2, Quinlan Kilner, Cohen Kemp, George Lye & Liam Coughlin.  Assists: Max Dunford 2, George Lye 2, Quinlan Kilner, Clare Dunkerley, Charlie Cotnam, Cruz Kaschak, Kenndra King, Liam Coughlin.

The U11 Flames won their third round robin game 10-1 against the Bancroft Jets.  Goals: Clare Dunkerley 2, Cohen Kemp 2, Charlie Cotnam 2, Owen Tucker, George Sayer, Cruz Kaschak & Liam Coughlin.  Assists: George Lye 3, Liam Coughlin 3, Quinlan Kilner 2, Max Dunford 2, Chase Sayers 2, Owen Tucker, Cole Villeneuve, Bryson Davis, Kenndra King & Griffin Halcovitch.

On Sunday, November 19th, the U11 Flames faced the Highland Storm Cottage Country Building Supplies in their semi-final matchup.  Apsley won 4-1.  Goals: Owen Tucker 2 & George Sayer 2.  Assists: Quinlan Kilner, Owen Tucker, Logan Reid & George Sayer. 

In the final game of the tournament, the U11s played the Bancroft Jets once again.  The final score was 8-1 for the Flames.  Goals: Quinlan Kilner 3, Charlie Cotnam 2, Cruz Kaschak 2 & Clare Dunkerley.  Assists: Liam Coughlin 2, Griffin Halcovitch, Cohen Kemp, Cruz Kaschak, Clare Dunkerley & Wyatt Wilson.

Congratulations the the U11 team and coaching staff, Trevor Kaschak, Anthony Halcovitch, Chad Tucker, Colin Cotnam & Karlee Boa.  The tournament win advances the Apsley Flames U11 team to the International Silver Stick Finals in Pelham in January.  


On Saturday, November 26th, the Apsley Flames U13 team opened the Highland Storm Silver Stick Regional Qualifier against Highland Storm Cheryl Smith Re/Max.  Apsley won 7-2.  Goals: Kasen McGinn 5, Kyle Laing & Owen Hill.  Assists: Owen Carleton 2, Nash Kilner 2, Greyson Miscio, Liam Koehler & Lucas Sinclair. 

In game two, the U13 Flames defeated the Tweed Hawks 13-1.  Goals: Kasen McGinn 6, Liam Koehler 2, Kyle Laing 2, Owen Carleton 2 & Nash Kilner.  Assists: Nash Kilner 4, Owen Carleton 4, Kasen McGinn 2, Greyson Miscio, Billy Boa, Max Lynch & Lucas Sinclair.

In their third round robin game, the Apsley Flames U13 team won 6-0 against Ennismore Eagles Green.  Goals: Kasen McGinn, Nick Chiaramida, Kyle Laing, Nash Kilner, Axton Jones, Lucas Sinclair. Assists: Greyson Kemp, Kasen McGinn, Nash Kilner, Owen Hill, Owen Carleton, Max Lynch & Axton Jones.  Shutout earned by Kheiron Rowe.

On Sunday, November 26th the U13 Flames defeated Highland Storm Upright Roofing by a score of 6-0 in their semi-final game.  Goals: Kasen McGinn 2, Liam Koehler, Kyle Laing, Owen Hill & Lucas Sinclair.  Assists: Billy Boa, Brodie Baylis, Owen Carleton & Lucas Sinclair.  Kheiron Rowe earned his second shutout of the tournament.  

In the championship game, the Apsley Flames U13 team faced-off against the Brock Wild.  In a nail-biter finish, the U13 Flames came out on top, winning 5-4.  Goals: Owen Carleton 2, Owen Hill 2 & Creighton Perks.  Assists: Kasen McGinn.

Congratulations to the Apsley Flames U13 team and coaching staff, Jason Kemp, Josh Perks, Mark Jones, Jennifer Hill & Candice Kemp.  The U13 Flames have earned a spot in the International Silver Stick Finals in Pelham in January.  

The Apsley Flames U15 & U18 teams will compete in their regional Silver Stick qualifiers in Haliburton on December 9th/10th and 16th/17th, respectively.  They will also have the chance to advance to the International Silver Stick Finals in Pelham January 11th - 14th.
